I was really disappointed to find out that the person in the picture was an unfashionable straight man and not a ultrahep boydyke.

Oh, he's not hurting anyone--I actually feel bad for him, being unwittingly held up to ridicule.

Besides, like Logan P. Smith once said, "One cannot be both fashionable and first-rate."

Oh, don't let my comment be read as too negative. I have a real appreciation for androgyne styles, and he succeeded well enough that I honestly thought he was a rather cute girl.

To me, the comedy doesn't lie intrinsically in his dress, but the visual image he presents (which I read as light, childlike and sexless) and the contrast it makes with the stated goals of his self-presentation. (a rather wolfishly calculated attempt to get the girls)

Oh I agree: there's certainly a gap between his actual appearance and his intended effect. I feel like taking him under my arm and explain that I was once guilty of that youthful folly, and that he should just embrace his boyish appearance, play with it. He really has no choice.

He should do some stomach crunches, though. Striped shirts and bellies do not mix.

Amazes me how provincial certain pockets of Europe have remained; some of the kid's comments come off as downright quaint. I wonder if the homogenaiety (sp?) of the populations have something to do with it.
