These all sound very intriguing. I hope this music feeds your appetite as I'd love a new Momus record. Still enjoying the last one but hoping for something new and surprising in 2008. Is that out of the question? Blogging is great but I prefer it put to music....

Richard

nick, have you heard the most recent Louis Philippe? what do you think of what has become of your fellow label mates (SFT, Auclair, Wright)?

I'm actually pretty impressed by what they've all done, and I don't just say that in a trivial "haven't they done well!" sort of way. For instance, an Always album was playing when I arrived at Le Vestiaire in Brussels, and it sounded pretty solid and poised and contemporary. Louis is a pretty amazing songwriter and singer (and arranger), and Simon Fisher Turner makes great soundscapes. I think the fact that we're all still working, twenty years on from our "commercial failure" on el, speaks volumes about Mike's vision and the way the label was really all about talent and commitment rather than the pose, ruse and gimmick some saw.
