Without copious amounts of road/highway to maintenance for motor traffic, pastures and feilds will flourish, allowing for more free growth and subsequently, farming of the land. As a result of this natural terraforming and plentiful supply of general green stuff, owners of horses should not expect to have to pay much for horse feed--in fact, they may look forward to owning their own private pastures, and create their own horse feed formulas at little to no cost to themselves. With income made from selling their resources/trading horses, medicine, grooming and riding equipment should also not be a significant problem.

That is, unless Big Hay steps in to collect a tidy profit...
