Thanks for that. This is perhaps the best Creation album posted so far; a nice time capsule of the start of the cyberculture long-boom zeitgeist. From today's long emergency (war without end, ecological catastrophe, second world depression), it sounds like a window into a different future, one far more optimistic and forward-looking than today's.

I wonder how long until we see revivals and reappreciations of the 1990s cyberculture movement, and whether they will be done in the spirit of earnestness (such as the way that Hercules and Love Affair's take on the peak of gay disco) or irony (much in the way that 1960s modernism or 1950s futurism are viewed, as a bit kitschy and slightly naff), or perhaps even bitter sarcasm ("Future? Feh!").

(And the recent "new rave"/fluoro movement doesn't count; it seems to have omitted precisely that element of gently pulsating futurism, of belief in limitless possibilities. New Rave's horizons are confined to the cutting edge of fashion, the race to stay ahead of the mainstream.)

Spot on...

I was having the same conversation last night - that late 80s/early 90s Cyberpunk/New Age is going to become the next retro futurism taking over from that Jetsons beatnik 50s version of futurism.

The pre IT era is the same as the pre space-age.
