I would hope in that parallel world there hadn't been a history of oppression and imperialism committed by white people, because that's the only thing stopping me from letting my mom enjoy her sari habit.

Also have you seen Pastry Kicks?:

I think they're representative of the potential American fashion could have to be truly great if people weren't so afraid of BEING AWESOME.

I think that attributing color to six year olds is part of the problem!

You read at the Random Tea Room, right? That place is my jam.

But those are women's shoes! Why is it juvenile just because it's brightly colored?

I know plenty of guys who dress their age and still act like 14 year olds. Rather they dress in a novel way and act 14 than try to trick me with grown-up clothes, ho ho.

Why do you think they're children's shoes?

Hmm I'm a little bit shocked that a dude whose whole livelihood comes out of his elaborately constructed persona of "otherness" is so closed-minded about BEING AWESOME.

So we don't wear saris because we've bossed sari-wearing people around, huh?

That is why I don't wear saris, personally.

Don't worry, tropigalia. I will be at Momus's show dressed head to toe in ugly, unimaginative American garb. And my boyfriend has a goatee.

Whatever you wear, wear it like a badge, baby!
