Signing in Paris

I'm in Paris for the next few days, staying at Anne Laplantine's place in the 17th arrondissement. There's an event on Tuesday evening, a signing and reading session for the french version of The Book of Jokes at a bookshop on the Avenue Daumesnil:

Atout Livre
203 bis Avenue Daumesnil
Paris 12
metro Daumesnil
1930 heures, mardi 27 Octobre
7.30pm Tuesday 27th October
Map

Le Livre des Blagues -- selected as a FNAC coup de coeur -- was reviewed (again!) in The Guardian yesterday in its English incarnation.

Long live the jokes!

A few years back (I think in 2006, though it might have been 2007 or 2005), you had an article on Click Opera about Japanese "housewife" movies - movies that were made with middle-aged family women in mind. I think you compared the movies you mentioned in the article with northern european lifestyle.
Now I've tried to google (using "japanese, film, movie, site:imomus.livejournal.com" and similar as search terms) for this article, sadly with no success. Do you remember this article and can help me locate it?

I'm sorry to ask about it now, when you're busy travelling.

BBMix

Hi there,
It's too bad that I'm leaving Paris on Tuesday morning, as I live just near Avenue Daumesnil, and I would have come to the book signing if I'd still been there. Sigh...
Anyway, the 45 minutes last Saturday at the BBMix festival in Boulogne were really great, and I wanted to thank you for your kindness after the show (my girlfriend and I talked with you a bit, hopefully we didn't bother you too much !!) and your excellent French (which was much better than "approximatif"). Hopefully you'll come back in Paris soon.
